What did your auxiliary do for Mission Awareness Sunday 2010?

SAINT JOHN, N.B.

Half the auxiliary members of the Sinclair, Aird and Shaw Auxiliary of Saint John, N.B. 
led the service at Grace Presbyterian Church. 
Members participated in all parts of the service 
including the prayers, the scripture lessons and the sermon. 
To identify themselves as AMS members, 
they wore stoles made the previous year as part of their mission study. 
At a turkey dinner following the service, 
some members also wore ball caps with AMS on the front of them.
Since the Sinclair, Aird and Shaw Auxiliary is made up of  members from two congregations, 
the members of the auxiliary from Saint Columba Presbyterian Church
led in the service for that congregation as well.

The 125th General Assembly adopted the following recommendation
presented by the Women's Missionary Society and supported by
the Atlantic Mission Society:

"That the last Sunday in April be designated as Mission Awareness Sunday,
promoting the work of the WMS/AMS.

When Easter falls on that date, Mission Awareness Sunday would be observed
the first Sunday in May."
